    $86 seems like too much for a common constaninian+ bronze, even in that reasonably high condition. I think the bidders in that auction got a bit too carried away and let the need to win overcome their common sense when assessing the actual worth of the coin...
    Which of course is another lesson worth learning...

    Thanks...and good point! :thumb: I really like ancient coins, but know nothing about them. Sounds like I was lucky to miss out on this one.

    Most folks say "Buy the book before the coin". I agree with that...mostly. I usually buy a coin I like, buy the book that tells me about my coin, then go from there. I gotta have a "coin in hand" to get interested.
