Does anybody have any Boggs Bills?

I found some decent images over on the CU Forums.

For those that might not know, JSG Boggs would draw these by hand and then trade them for goods or services.

The Secret Service and Treasury Department took exception to this and threw him in jail. The charges didn't stick but in 2006 he was arrested for a drug charge in Florida.

I guess the answer is no.

Boggs Bills were a hot commodity in the 1990s. I recall seeing some of those above selling in the $300-400 range. These were really limited edition prints, as you can tell by the numbering (#25 out of 40). The ones he created entirely with pen and ink are valued at much more.

I was amused to see Gene Hessler's signature as the "Secretary of Thought" on the Franklin $100. ;) I haven't heard much about him lately -- is he still creating these notes?

I think he's still in the slammer on a drug charge.

I cannot help but wonder what type of "pen" he used. The lines are even to fine for a 0000!

I think he did the originals in a very large format, then reduced them photographically.

    Hi
I have a few bills of his work from a friend of his who got them direct from Boggs. Trying to figure out how much these would be worth. They are all on thin cardboard and here are some examples.

These are interesting! I didn't know Boggs created European notes. Is there anything printed on the other sides? I hope you don't mind -- I'm going to post these directly into this thread so they will remain in place, in case the link gets broken. I find it amusing that Boggs put himself on the Swiss note.

Let me inquire with a friend regarding value. Are you trying to sell these?
