1965 Jefferson Nickel

Does this coin have errors or anything special about it

Hello! Looks like just another worn nickel with some circular damage on the reverse. Have a good night, all!

 

Well circulated coin.

 

With a severe case of die deterioration.

 

I think I see the remnants of clashed dies on the reverse. I think.

 

What do you see that has you asking the question?

 

Could be some "ghosting", otherwise just a world-weary nickel

 

Just a well worn coin. 5 cents worth.

The lines from the roof to the rim looks like it could be Jefferson's neck

 

The word liberty and the date, also the word monticello possibly some doubling on some letters of the word, and I can't show it in the photos but if I turn it a certain way I think I see faded letters on the reverse

 

And on the obverse around his mouth

I'm not seeing it. I think you may be looking too hard at an already worn coin.

Ghosting is more correctly PIDT (Progressive Indirect Design Transfer) where the die gets "deformed" by the design on the other side and starts to leave a ghostly image. http://www.error-ref.com/progressive-indirect-design-transfer/

 

This is ghosting so the image is in the correct position which is upside down. It just as @Kentucky explained. Lincoln’s outline is on the reverse. Both are in my collection.
