    Welcome to CT!! damaged not an error like paddy stated above and if you want to know a full explanation of how it happened "vise job" (a coin that was somehow smashed or squeezed against another coin as a result of great pressure).But still a cent and since your new keep and label it,a nice learning piece for similar examples you might find in the future so you already know.
