How About Your Second Oldest Coin

    That's a real pretty coin Bing.

    I should have mentioned that at some point things changed and most of the Roman issues show Hermes holding a money purse rather than the caduceus.

    My second oldest coin would have to be my Avatar.

    600-550 B.C. MYSIA Kyzikos One twelth of a stater.
    El 6mm., 0.50 gm. Hunter & Leiwald 2.2;
    (O) Head of Tunny fish right

    The one on the left is 76-75 BC. AR Denarius, Spanish mint. Used to pay Pompey's troops.
    Diademed and draped bust of Genius Populi Romani right, with scepter over shoulder / Scepter with wreath, terrestrial globe, and rudder.

    The one on the right is 78 BC - Rome Republic M. Volteius.
    AR Denarius.
    Obv. Bust of Bacchus (?).
    Rev. Ceres in chariot, Drawn by 2 serpents.

    The Cn Lentulus denarius is one of my favorite Republican types. Here is my example:

    Very good @Mr.MonkeySwag96. I like yours very much. I must confess, I have just a few ancients. Most of them in to bad of condition to tell much about them. I got these 2, which I do like, primarily because they were in decent condition, and not very expensive. I know the Rev of Sere with serpents is badly off centered, but it is a strong strike. The dealer I got them from wasn't really in to ancients. He had bought a collection that had some, though, and he let me have them at a very reasonable price, I thought?
