i recently found out that my mother had a $2 1/2 1908 indian head that was given to her by her uncle and now passed down to me. this is my first gold coin. only one little problem with it though (or big problem to some ), it has been melted at the top to make a little ring so it can be worn as a necklace. oh well, it would make a nice necklace piece though
Vision...my wife had a coin passed down to her as well...the very same thing had occured...to me the collector part cryied out loud! The other part of says nice way to remember someone as they wore this around their neck... So two great ways of looking at it....one other way to look at it is there is proff now that 1 less than the mintage figure is real..who knows how many others????
