I received mine High premium or no premium I like them. Think of it this way and you won't mind the premium. It cost 1 2022 West Point ASE to fill your gas tank lol
Yes and no...sort of. The AW initials of the original designer...an A over/inside a W and which looks forever too much like a W at first glance every time, plus centered perfectly under the motto where the mint mark should have been placed. So it's not completely a "non W one."
It was only the third time that I wanted a "special" mint product. I spent a small fortune trying to figure what was the B*S* about a 1921 "deep relief" Peace Dollar. Even the one I finally decided was someones' idea of limited perfection relative to my "Gem" 1907 "deep/high relief" coin, was very disappointing. Regardless of what it cost, I had to have all 6 coins, to view "proper detail". They didn't need to be some special grade, just designed/struck as was desired by a president who wanted all details completely "Identifiable". What was the problem, as coins struck with primitive tools had accomplished relative perfection, except symmetry. I believe the set had accomplished relative perfection, regardless of their grade. JMHO
I think eagles right wing is piss poor. Left looks full. Could of done better with the W. I get it old cranky man
Btw @1stSgt22 I am sorry this thread has turned out to be a commentary on the design. Personally I am very happy you got a coin you desired, and am glad for the pleasure the coin will give you. I know we like to rag on the mint, but that is the price of a meal at a decent restaurant for two nowadays. I would rather have the coin than that. Glad you got what you wanted and makes your collection better.
