1992 Lincoln Cent error?

    Another coin I think might be interesting. Is this an error or mechanical doubling on this 1992 Lincoln cent?

    DDD die deterioration doubling not the 001,don't forget to look for a CAM. Screenshot_20220512-082936_Google.jpg

    That wasn't on the die, it happened at the time of the strike.

    It’s doubling caused by a worn die.

    "Strike doubling, (which is the result of die-bounce [due to vibrations in the press] and occurs within the split second after the coin is struck), will typically show as flat shelf-like extensions of the doubled characters; there will be no open field areas in-between the doubled images"

    Mechanical Doubling, only worth keeping if you really want it.
