Currently up for auction for an estate sale. They have several just like this one. 2pv3sj3vx2_629888.jpeg p3kt6ep16i_542905.jpeg

Some questions don't deserve to be categorized as legitimate...

BTW, I suspect the lower right skid marks may yield an opinion.

Oh, almost forgot, hold a 5X up to the screen.

    Where are my sock suspenders?

Looks legit. Has the common die crack on the neck. Probably messed with some how.

It looks whizzed and then toned to me, but I'm no expert.

Looks real but with altered surfaces. Unless the host coin used for copying also had the known die crack from 1 thru the base of the neck.

That was one of my thoughts after reading Evans' post. (#3)
I could only copy then post the enlarged version of the coin. Glancing at the sellers normal size pictures the coin is so pot marked I thought it was cast. Adding to my suspicions is a '22 Peace in the lot next to it with the same surface. What are the odds. The coins show numerous circulation hits. Using the magnify function on the sellers site I can't remember seeing two coins so pot marked. Environmental damage?

Or possibly a harsh, abrasive cleaning in the past, and re-toned somewhat over the years.

Also possibly both coins cleaned and stored in the same environment could account for the same surfaces.

Looks ok, I think. 1923 one of most common Peace. What does edge look like?

Real. The storage environment wasn't kind to it, but it doesn't look trashed. Can't tell from the pictures if it would grade, but it's not worth the expense, as it looks AU55, best case.
