The coin is from Taiwan (Republic of China).

The first image states the denomination is 5 jiao ("50 cents").

The second image has the inscription "Republic of China 56 year" which means it was produced in the year 1967.

I do not have any reference books on modern Chinese coinage so I can only provide the translation for you.

Y#46, brass, Krause uses the alternative transliteration "Chiao" for the denomination.

As I said in the other thread, the denomination side (reverse) is approximately upside down.
