Hello everyone, Welcome to my 56,000th like celebration thread Thanks to @potty dollar 1878 for that needed like! So today I have a CoinStar reject bin find.. Someone went all the way to Waikiki Hawaii to visit the Waikiki Aquarium. Took a Cent and made an elongated souvenir. It made it all the way back to NYC to then be dumped into a coin counter/sorter machine, became rejected to then be found by me It's almost 5000 miles away from me! The crazy stuff one can find!
These things can happen. I accidentally placed a special souvenir large cent from an EAC convention into a bag of random change and put it into a CoinStar. Fortunately, I checked the reject box and got it back. It had been "missing" for two years. A famous half cent collector stuck a MS 1793 half cent into a book and then couldn't find it when his collection came up for auction. Another collector who was going through his papers before they were donated found it and returned it to him.
Very nice and you didn’t have to go to Hawaii to get a souvenir. I love those elongated cents and they are great, low cost souvenirs that remind you of your trip every time you see it. Congratulations on all by those like!!
