I see a lot of what people find on here, but what have you guys found as a whole so far in bank rolls? For me I have almost 9 rolls of wheats and about 5 rolls of 40s/50s nickels as well as 15 silver dimes (6 mercs, 11 rosies). Also a 1954 washington. :hail:

this year aka the year I started most memorable finds...that I can remember at this moment: 1 1917 S penny, g-4 or so, 1939 D nickel, MS-65 or so.. no joke, around 20 buffalos in a nickel roll and 15 in another.. mainly worn, but still cool to have, I love that design, a lot of wheat ears and junk copper, 20 silver dimes, nothing extraordinary out of rm though =\, no silver quarters, halves or dollars... yet :goofer: a few war nickels, 4 steel cents... in a trash can.

Oh and plenty of foreign coins!

I started roll searching in April/May of this year.

I have found 350 silver half dollars including 108 of them being 90%. Of those 108, 12 are Franklins and 6 are Walking Liberties. I have found 60 Kennedy Proofs, 4 82 no FG errors and 1 83 no FG errors. I have found 12 or so 1974D DDO Kennedy errors. I have found about 65 Kennedys from 2002 forward and two 1987s. I have found about 32 rolls of wheat cents, mostly 30s and 40s (including 9 steelies), but some in the 20s and 10s as well. I found one 1998 Wide AM and one blank cent planchet. I have found 1 buffalo nickel, 2 silver war nickels, and a couple of rolls of nickels from the 40s and 50s. I have found 2 silver Rosies and one silver quarter. I have also found some other very cool stuck through and lamination errors as well as a handful of foreign coins.

    Paper money I have found a 1928 $2 note, a 1934 $10 note, a couple from the 50s and more than 50 star notes.

I also have found that I now have a full blown obsession with searching rolls and banks for finds. I need help. I can't stop. Will the obsession ever end (of course, with the luck I've had, I don't want it to end)?

    Nice

Wow Bob, you luck has stayed true the whole time. Your biggest stat to me is that almost 1/3 of your halves are 90%. I have not found anywhere near that ratio of 90%'ers.

    Another thought

Oh, and the 60 proofs is WAY more than I find. I have seen you find 10 or so in one box but the most I have ever found in a box is 2.

3 2$ star notes from about 10 years ago (don't know if they count)

    1 War Nickel
    1 1950D Nickel
    3 clad proof halves
    1 clad proof Ike
    1 no FG Error
    approx. 120 40% halves
    about 35 '64 halves
    3 Frankies
    7 Walkers
    2 Barbers
1 Loonie in the rejects of a coin counting machine.

    Oh, and a Stone Mountain.

Most of this is loose from banks or hand rolled from banks. I seem to not have good luck (except for the Barbers) with bank rolled halves.

How do you know If a coin is proof it has been in circulation

the san francisco mint stopped making coins for circulation in the 1950's, with the exception of the cent. it issued its last circulation cent in 1974. the sf mint began making proof coins in 1968. so any coin, other than the cent, that is 1968 or later with an "s" mint mark is a proof. any cent that is 1975 or later with an "s" mint mark is also proof.

Are proof coins that have been in circulation valuable?

There are also non-proof S nickels through 1970 (I think).
