The standing Britannia florin is arguably the most beautiful circulation issue coin the UK has produced
More Dutch gold! I was going to take macro shots but my tripod decided to break so phone pics will have to do for now. 1933 was the last year 10 gulden coins were minted before the Netherlands left the gold standard in 1936. Kingdom of the Netherlands, 10 gulden 1933. Gold .900, KM# 162.
This one came from the Kenneth Bressett collection when it was being auctioned at the Denver ANA show......they were all raw, definitely a cool score!
Not the prettiest coin in the group, but probably the toughest: Straits Settlements 1920 5 Cents (silver)
I purchased a few nice things the past couple of days. Italian States - Lucca 5 Franchi 2 from Sweden And the best of the group. A 1570 Austria Guldenthaler of Maximillian II
I was watching this one for a while, Seller lowered their price, and I had a bit of money in my checking account, so I made an offer and now it's mine! 2004 5 Euro "Marianne - The Sower : La Semuese" Bimetallic - 2.7 g .750 gold inset in 22.2 g .900 silver. 3000 minted. (seller's pics)
I've gotten a few of my trademark 'common type, not-so-common date' coins recently: Botswana - 1989 1 Thebe If you collect by type, I'm willing to bet you have a 1976 1 thebe in your collection. That date is very easily available in UNC, and often shows up in those '50 coins from 50 countries' sets you see for sale. The other dates, while not necessarily rare, don't show up as often. I've been lucky enough to find 3 other dates in recent months, including this 1989. South Korea - 2017 500 Won Due to South Korea's cashless efforts, any coin larger than 10 won gets tougher to find after 2016. This piece was found in circulation by a friend who was visiting, along with several other dates I needed.
