Sorry, I have to agree with the above posts, but then I hate any cent minted after the change over in 1982, so seldom give them a second look.

Looks like a normal doubled zinc cent caused by a worn die.

I hate to say it but I don't understand why you newbies persist in looking for these. They're not worth anything to anybody outside of recognition if some "expert" picks up on it and enshrines it in one of his unintelligible acronyms. When the question is always "What's it worth?" after you find one and the answer is always "Nothing" one would think some of you at least would get the picture and move on to learning how to actually collect coins, which, for that matter, are worth something. But whatever turns you on, I always say... :banghead:

To a large number it is a way to hunt for the gold nugget! The big lottery ticket ( which is approximately 1/million + odds) confuses me way more than looking at change) and horse and dog races~ big payouts. I filled out the voting ballet last night. I think everyone was running except me by the lists. Money, money, money.....for doing little, less, much less.IMO, Jim

Yeah, OK. But you’d think we’d be more interested in promoting a hobby. I mean, as long as we are one. Seems like a good idea. As far as ideas go, that is to say.

Yeah it does in a way, but you have seen the You-tubes and ads in the coin magazine !!Your coin may be worth thousands!! " Ultra -Rare coins found in change. etc. " It is harmless and keeps people busy and they do read our answers. They may disagree , but also maybe retain some information. We shouldn't think too badly of them. Just tell your self " my answering limit is 3 today " and stick to it. It will keep you from going bonkers. Jim

Quite the contrary. It leads us away from the hobby. That’s why I imagine you never see these obsessed types with the microscopes on the real coin forums. PCGS and NGC would send them packing so quick the door wouldn’t have time to swing back and hit them in the ass.

Listen people, I do this because I enjoy it and because I am disabled and it gives me something to do when I can't sleep. Everyone must start somewhere!!! Just click off the thread if it annoys you! Thanks.

Do it all you want, who's stopping you? Here we have other business. You're just in the wrong place for this, that's all. No one is criticizing why you do it, that's entirely your business. But at one in the same time have a little compassion for how you treasure seekers are bringing this forum down. We're a hobby forum, and you're changing it to a treasure-seeking forum. You're not interested in learning how to collect coins, you're interested in identifying and collecting treasure. You're not "starting" anywhere. This isn't how you "start" learning how to collect coins, with microscopes! That's how you look at bacteria. We empathize. That's not the issue. Quit trying to pretend it's the issue. The issue is you're in the wrong place for it. The issue is go to PCGS or NGC and try this business, there, see how long they take it from you. They have coin forums, and more experts to help you out than we do. Why are you picking on us with this bullshit? What did we ever do to you?
