Something happened on February 4th or 14th and for 5 years? Maybe. The bottom says "Dae seong sam (3) in" if said in Korean. This isn't Korean, btw, just my reading of it in Korean. I'll pass this onto someone better versed in Chinese characters than me~!
Here we go (Chinese Characters, with English underneath). The "Showa" reference is the Japanese dating system using Emperor Hirohito's regnal date. Japanese refer to Hirohito as "Showa Tenno." Nobody in Japan calls him "Hirohito." Only non-Japanese, I guess. 上陸 Landing 昭和十五年 十二月廿四日 Showa 15 (1940), 24th December 大成三郎 Taisei Saburo (a person's name) This has some uses of characters that I wasn't aware of: 拾=十=10,廿=二十=20 I know 十=10, but I didn't know that 拾=10. Same for 二十=20. I didn't know that could be rendered as 廿. *Thanks to a friend in Taipei for this translation!
