I’ve been working on antiques as of late because I can’t keep up with the sales. It’s a horrible problem, I know. I just opened another box of coins and found this. A lower grade set of Peace Dollars. It’s complete and if you enlarge you can see the prices I paid. I wasn’t about to remove them from the plastic flips or the pages so my apologies there. I still need one high grade to finish that set. I have another lower grade set than this one that’s also complete and you can see half of another low grade set. Been too long since I’ve seen it so not sure if I have some elsewhere.

As you can tell, I was lazy when I put together this set but look at some of those prices. An XF 1921 at $45.00, common dates at $9.00, better dates for $20-$30, a 1928 in AU for $185.00, a 1934-D in XF for $32.50 and a 1934-S for $15.00 in Fine. You won’t find those prices today but then your hourly pay is higher today.

I didn’t take close ups but I do have the 1935-S in both varieties. They are 3 or 4 rays below the ONE by the Eagles tail. When I bought these there was no premium for either variety and I’m not sure if there is a premium on this in today’s market.

Nice set. Many look MS to me.
What grade do you think on the 1924.
Looks like some nice luster under the toning.

Man…. Don’t you miss the days when you could pick up nice Peace dollars for nine bucks? What a sweet find.

A really nice set! I've been working on an XF-AU set since before time began and I'm still not done so I can appreciate yours. :)

The 1924 was a $9.00 price to me so many years ago, at least in the 1990’s maybe older. It was label AU but the hair on her is weakly struck, which is normal. I think she would grade a MS-62 today.

Yes Randy, I do miss those days. This is a mid grade set. I have a set that’s a lower overall grade but I want that 1927-S PCGS graded coin in MS-64. That’s the last one for a complete set in the grade.

Patience, it takes lots of patience to get what you want. And patience comes with time.

    Impressive collection!
Common dates $9? Wow, that's much cheaper than what I see around here...

Thanks, this is a middle grade set. I have a lower grade and I’m one coin away from a high grade set.
