Use to sneak radio into my bedroom when I was supposed to be sleeping and listen to after bedtime ballgames.
"DXing" on the commercial AM band. I used to do it a lot. But it was more fun to do it with a shortwave radio just to see how many lower power stations you could get around the world. Sometimes I'd write to the station (thanks to the World Radio TV Handbook, that printed all the info on every station in the world) and get a QSL card and other cool stuff in reply.
If the Indians had the day off, or they were playing a late game on the West Coast, I'd sometimes tune in to Ernie Harwell doing the Tigers games.
