1798 Isle of Man Half Penny!

Unusual coin with definitely a different look, kinda like a three legged thingamajig! The Latin phrase on the reverse, 'Stabit Quocunque Jeceris' translation means, which ever way you throw it, it will stand! Anyone else have one of these three legged coins? You can't see it very good on this coin, but on others I've come across they're wearing spurs!

Fun coins. For some reason the knees are in two different positions in my examples.
I'm on the lookout for the Isle of Man "cartwheel" style penny.
It's a little smaller than the 1797 UK cartwheel, but still an impressive coin.

 

Wow guys! That's far out. The three-legged man with spurs also! That's just weird man. Cool coin though.

 

I really like that color brown on the coin. Beautiful.

 

The triskellion was also used on some coins from Sicily it’s an ancient Celtic symbol that is the focal point of the Isle of Man coat of arms and flag. On the coat of arms are a peregrine falcon and a chough which is s as rare member of the crow family. View attachment 1485343

 

Forgot to mention that the rarest coin from the Isle of Man is the 1997 large planchette 50p which currently sells at around £600

Nice examples above. I have one IOM coin, this is a proof commemorative of 300 years of Manx coinage with the triskellion in the centre display of some of the past IOM issues
