I have a small collection of odd Roman coins and here's my latest-- a Constantine I with Sol reverse that has been modified for use as a...? 2.8g
Kinda reminds me of an arrowhead. Definitely looks like it was modified to be tied to something, but not something in favor of Constantine I. Cool coin, Victor
@doucet beat me to it. The notches would be perfect for tying onto a handle. A knapped stone tool of similar size and shape is called a "hafted end scraper" by archaeologists, typically a recycled projectile point.
here's one that I guess was modified for use as a sieve. Magnentius A.D. 350-3 25x27mm 8.7g D N MAGNENTIVS P F AVG; bare-headed, draped & cuirassed bust right SALVS DD NN AVG ET CAES; large Chi-Rho flanked by A-W In ex. SAR RIC VIII Arles 194
that's definitely a Roman bottle opener prototype, They gave those out with every six-pack of Luna-lager
Now thats cutted up...! Does it have to do something with gaming? And the cuts on the inverse, are those because of a damnatio memoriae?
