Guessing that he misjudged demand on those seated-dollar overstrikes -- he sold out the ones at a flat price of $210, and for the ones still available, it's $350 and YOU supply the Seated dollar to be overstruck.

 

Some of the new items had a production as low as 2, many below 10.

 

He intentionally does some low montage stuff from time to time. It’s unusual for that many all at once. If anything I’d argue he misjudged the price of the other ones, $350 and having to supply a seated dollar is just crazy. I would have gotten one of each but there’s not a chance I’m paying that price and supplying the dollar.

 

It looks like the lower cost items were overstruck on Morgan or Peace dollars. You would have to pay more to have your actually seated dollar overstruck with the fantasy dates. TC

 

As someone who doesn't mind details coins, I think I'd rather sacrifice a polished or otherwise damaged Morgan as a host than obliterate an actual Seated dollar. I understand that he generally tries to do overstrikes on the same type, but as long as the "underlying host design still visible" issue isn't too bad, I'd rather he use the most common possible host.

 

Been a long while since I’ve gotten one of his overstrikes. Guess I don’t check in often enough. But I just nabbed one of the Roman numeral silver eagles. Thanks for outpointing @ZoidMeister

I've slowed down quite a bit, but this one found a new home with me.

The quest for the 2009 MMOH overstrike is over. Still looking for a few 2015 / 2016 pieces . . . .

Does anyone know if Dan did MMOH strikes this year, 2022?
