St. Helena half penny 1821. Looks like the work of EIC at Soho mint.

A one year mintage of 288,000 plus it's small 15mm size drew me to the issue. ICG MS64RB, KM# 823.

Another 1/3 farthing, Edward VII, 1902. I notice the mintage was 288,000 for this one year issue.

Wonder how they settled on 288,000 ass the mintage for both issues? Either way, looks like I'm looking for a 1902 now!

love that they didn't call it a penny, but a twelfth of a shilling.I'd have been tempted to call it one two hundred and fortieth of a pound...

There's a good reason for that. The Jersey penny was 1/13 of a shilling in the 1840s due to exchange rates with the French livre. There were 26 livres to a pound, 20 sous to a livre, so 520 sous to a pound. The Jersey penny was valued at 2 sous, making it 1/260 of a pound or 1/13 shilling. The term penny became problematic in Jersey, as it was unclear what its value was, so saying 1/12 shilling was clearer.
