Ok guys, Once again, I am a little confused and need a little guidance. I have searched about satin finsh coins and still dont completely understand. When creating a registry set, do Satin finish coins count the same as business strike coins. I looked through NGC website and could not find if it mattered if the coin was a satin finish coin or not. My question is if Satin finish coins can be counted then why dont people use those because they have obviously a higher grade. I am going to start purchasing graded coins soon and I want to get the right things. Thanks again for the help.
No, they are counted separately. I sent you a PM which included ways to look at this. Let me know if you recieved it and if not I'll post again. Good question though!
Yes, I recieved it and I have been looking at all the sets on both the PCGS and NGC website. I am assuming that a Satin Finish coin and a SMS coin ar ethe same thing just called something differant by the differant companies. I also noticed that with NGC it is still a MS coin and with PCGS it is a SP coin. bare with me guys, I am still trying to learn all the differant types and proofs and this and that.:desk: I will get it eventually.:smile
Your assumptions are correct - different names for the same thing. Sometimes they're found in business strike sets, sometimes in proof sets, sometimes both - go figure!
