New Coin, Phillip I The Arab

    I have not posted a new coin for a while, cause I did not have one. This is a Phillip I Arab from Cilicia. Tarsos, bronze. 31 mm. 244-249 AD.It is called a medallic type… please help me with that term and catalog number. Also reverse?

    I feel like the term medallion is applied to many large provincials with out much guidance. It seems like a standard circulation issue and not a special medal

    Big 3rd century provincial bronzes are great. Lots of interesting types even more so than sesterces and within 10 years of Philip's reign they disappeared...
