Every couple of days or so I get an email notification of new ancients added to Ma-Shops dealers’ inventories. Problem is, these coins are always several hundreds to thousands of dollars and so are never within my immediate budget, so the emails basically are no better than spam to me. I have all email notifications from them set to “Off” but the emails still get sent. Can these be disabled? Should I simply mark these as spam? Or at least there be some way to lower the price range of these notifications so I only get cheaper new additions? Thanks for any help. To keep this legal, here’s a coin of mine that would be expensive enough for these emails (if it was being offered): Marcian, Eastern Roman Empire AV solidus Obv: D N MARCIA-NVS P F AVG, diademed, helmeted and cuirassed three-quarter facing bust, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with horseman Rev: VICTORI-A AVGGG, Victory standing left, holding long jeweled cross, star in right field Mint: Constantinople Mintmark: CONOB Date: 450-457 AD Ref: RIC 510 Size: 4.46 gr., 21 mm
If you log into MA Shops & pull up the 'My MA' page, underneath the summary of bought items should be 'Watched categories' - delete action on the right. WRT the coin - it's a nice solidus.
Yeah, I hate that. A vcoins dealer whom I've been frequenting does that. While it's not everyday, perhaps once or twice a week, it's still annoying and unwanted. I'm perfectly capable of going over to vcoins. I'm not sure which dealer has Aphrodite Auctions. The phone number listed is code +45, which is in Denmark. I haven't bought any coins from Denmark, but I got on their spam list somehow. I made a spam filter for both. Marc Breitsprecher has a new coins email, but it's random and once in a blue moon. Hence, his actually get looked at.
On MA-Shops you can customize the notifications you want to receive, or select none if you prefer not to receive any. To do so: 1. Log in to your account 2. Go to user menu. 3. Go to settings; toggle for notifications, on or off. 4. From the user menu you can also customize what you want to watch, whether it is an item, a category, a shop, or a search. I hope this is helpful to you.
