I have to admit, I am on a quest for my Numista inventory map to have a coin from every country, and I don't have one of those - but Botswana and Ecuador are higher priorities. I like the token idea too.

Now I don't have any Seated Liberty Half Dimes - well I didn't, but I saw this one, and now I do! Thank you for the suggestion. It's a lower grade (PR50) proof 1871 Seated Liberty Half Dime in a PCGS slab, mintage 960. It was (to me) surprisingly affordable, though more than I usually spend on a coin by quite a bit. I think folks interested in these only want them PR60 or better for the most part and have the bank accounts to support that. It was a little over my payday project budget, but not much. I'm really excited about it and I'm so glad I asked you all for suggestions - now I have good ideas that will carry me forward. Seller's pics:

I too cannot regularly spend $250 on coin. Like you, that is a lot for me. I was in the same boat last month and was trying to buy a FH SLQ, unfortunately I was outbid on everything and ended up buying a few cheaper coins.
Long story short - a nice Standing Liberty Quarter

True, but I'd rather have gold or silver.

You did great on that coin. It will be worth the higher cost to you but if you only paid what’s on the reverse, I wouldn’t think a thing about it.

I don’t know much about the series but I do have a few in my Dansco. It will be worth that price for the lower mintage.

Congrats on your purchase and I see why this coin spoke to you. It may be an “impaired” Proof but the Proof qualities are still very much there and it’s an appealing coin. You made a good choice!

I unfortunately can't afford $250 and even if I did, it would have to go to Bills. However, if I didn't have to do that it would have to be something Silver like a half dime or Standing Liberty Quarter or both.

I have been putting it into stock. There are some bargains there if a person is patient and long term looking. Jim

Well, when I am gone, the family will carry on and I won't worry about them financially before or after. Assuming the whole country doesn't vaporize first.

Probably a CC Morgan in an OGH.

That should keep you busy for a while.
