Looks good to me,ashame about the zinc rot though despite being a nice red gem example especially for a zilincon.

Seal it before the zinc takes over. One in a million good for you!

The question is...how to seal it? Is there something you can use to keep zinc from going bad? Hey @BadThad what does Verdicare do to zinc?

@Kentucky IF @dollar is not going to have it graded, I would suggest using Zinsser Bullseye CLEAR Shellac (which is an alcohol based natural resin compound that is completely impervious to aqueous moisture, when dry); it can easily be removed--if desired--by using Denatured Alcohol. It is available in a Spray Can as-well-as lidded cans but I suggest the Spray Can as the technique for brush application from the container is quite involved.

    (1) first, remove any fingerprint oils using an Acetone dip or Brake Cleaner (Tricholoethane) spray, followed by blotting with a soft cotton cloth OR blowing off with "Canned Air"; I suggest using gloves, either latex or nitrile (my preference). (2) place the coin on a clean, flat piece of paper. (3) lightly spray ONE SIDE ONLY from the recommended distance (can directions). (4) while still wet, but DO NOT TOUCH THE COIN, examine to see if the coating looks even; and if it DOES, let the coin dry for 20 minutes. (5) examine with a Loupe and IF satisfactory, carefully turn the coin over (I suggest while using Nitrile Gloves) and repeat for the other side. NOTE, the Edge will probably not get much--if any--coating on it, but that is not too important for the OP's particular situation.

VC is effective on ALL metals, it's just the most effective with copper.
