Got back from the EAC Conference yesterday. Got brought back: -- two ½¢ coins from the auction, -- two ½¢ coins from the bourse and -- a head cold (or flu?). I tested myself and fortunately it's not COVID. Coin pictures later (the cold has left me with no energy). Met a few dealers I knew and a couple others that I knew of. Ones I've dealt with in the past: -- Chris McCawley -- Tom Reynolds -- Col Ellsworth -- Wayne Herndon Ones I only knew of: -- John Wright -- Ed Fuhrman -- others I've already forgotten (my mind is going) The auction was scheduled for about three hours (6PM-9PM). Good thing I was only interested in Half Cents. They were right after the Colonials and took only about 1½ hours to get through them at the auction. Apparently the rest of the auction went until about two thirty in the morning. Online bidders really slowed things up.
Thanks for the report, considering you aren't feeling well. Glad you were able to acquire some half cents! I'm sure you will post photos eventually. edited
Oh and for the report hungry, the CRO Road Report is worth reading as always. https://www.coinraritiesonline.com/road-report/
Tom Reynolds, heck of a nice guy. He's a regular at the Brooklyn Center, MN show twice a year. I've bought a few pieces from him through the years. His inventory is always fun to peruse through. Glad you had a fruitful show. Get well soon!
Hey! I resemble that remark. I noticed that bidder 101 was bidding on tons of lots. Wonder who that was. Seriously, glad you had a great show but sorry you picked up a bug. Be well.
I'm not sure but I believe Tom Reynolds had 101. Tom also tends to act as an agent for other collectors so the sales to 101 could represent several buyers.
