1945 s jefferson nickel

    hi every one.i found this 1945 s jefferson nickel today.its circulated no nicks or gouges and is not worn any.is it rare or valuable?just wondering because i have a lot of old p nickels but no s? 1862csa1.jpg

    Just as circ. example of a war nickle or silver value inder $1.

    Quite worn, but nice color for a war nickel - most of the ones I find are very, very dark, if not black...

    I'd grade it at VF. It's worth, maybe, a $1.

    Just wondering... is there any safe way to clean a "war nickle"? I have many, but most are heavily contaminated.

    melt value for these are about $1.70.

    I'm guessing its oxidation forming on Manganese, but it looks almost black.
