1845 Half Sovereign: Nice Coin, Can We Find a Better?

    Here is a nice example of the 1845 half sovereign. This is a rather scarce issue, and I have yet to see a true mint state (MS) specimen. Sorry that the pictures are such bad quality. GTG on this one if you like:

    Ah, nice. I used to laugh as on another well known site I would post coins and always derided - the poster always saying how many superior coins he had seen and yet not posting pictures or citing sources.
    Anyway, I do collect young head half sovs that still don't draw a lot of interest although high graded coins of even common dates go for crazy monies. This is arguably the scarcest of the half sovs in higher condition but basically is tied with the possibly more famous 1862.

    Beautiful coin. Appreciate the details on the ear and hair. Flip side has Lions and a harp, I think. Do not know much about this coin but love it. Thanks for sharing.

    Yes, a "fresh" coin not messed with. A very clean and virginal rendition of Victoria on the obverse.
    The reverse are the quartered arms of England, Scotland and Ireland..
