The die polishing lines radiate from this one on the Obv. The darker spots on the reverse are actually marina blue toning. I had a hard time photo'ing the back side they are always pretentious. It is a variety, The dark spot on Washingtons cheek is contact.
Okay @Pickin and Grinin . I was waiting for another one of these but I'm not too impressed. I like the coin because it's 90% Silver but would only give it about a MS63+. The "Reverse" is a little soft on the wings and wreath. The obverse about the same condition. "Don't hate because I'm Great!".
Are you doing a veggie garden this year? I have mostly peppers sprouting this year in the greenhouse. The Tomatoes are late to the party. The Roma's tend to just grow from the garden every year. For me they pop up like weeds. From looking at your other thread. You need to ammend your garden soil. Start composting your cut grass and left over greens.
I would be at a MS-64 on this as well. I bet the luster is gorgeous, but the detractors kept it down.
I am at a 62. The contacts around the wing/beak area on the reverse and the flattened rim at the "DO" in dollar. On the obverse the high point discoloring, and the baggy "in god we trust" and the contacts on the neck limit it for me. The die polish lines don't bother me at all in the obverse fields, in fact the fields are pretty clean.
Exploded magnification! I know if I viewed this one in hand w/ a 5x, that I'd be impressed. A few minimal and non-distracting hits. Luster beast (most likely) and the strike is better than ok, it's good +. Some attractive colors/hues on portrait (maybe rim) and the die-lines are sweet. Little chatter on the bust might hold me back, so will guess 65. Anxious to here variety as well.
I have been nonstop lately, haven't had much time to get back here on CT. I am going to let this one go for the rest of the day. I wanted to answer a few of the responses to clarify a few things. That is mint set toning, there isn't any contact to the wing and beak area. The area you see at "DOl" is not flattening. Everything you are seeing has to do with the die state and variety. There isn't any contact to the IGWT. It is a full strike and has every bit of it's frosty luster. I am trying to get some better photos of the variety. Hint: This variety is only available in EDS "early die state" I am going to try to get some better photos of the wings on the reverse. The coin is tipped slightly in the holder and makes it hard to get those details without changing the light set up.
Let's see if we can get a few others to give their opinion. @Evan8 @ddddd @CircCam @Dave Waterstraat @potty dollar 1878 @Tamaracian
