Anyone recognize this word / symbol? عد

    I have a scale weight with letters I do not know.
    Rectangular weight with symbol.
    5.85 grams
    13.6 X 10.6 X 6.0 mm
    Can someone here translate this?

    I found a couple of websites on scale weights with similar symbols. I do not find a rectangular scale weight the correct weight range.
    عد = "fair"
    Comment: The acronym عد should be an abbreviation of عدل

    It may be عدل with the ل written below.

    Thanks, I think you are saying the translation "Justice" is correct.
    I guess that is like the Romans putting Aequitas (Justice) on a coin.

    I would translate it more as "just" in the sense of full-weight, lawful, legitimate. The word 'adl is not uncommon on Islamic coins and though I haven't studied Islamic weights in depth, it makes perfect sense in that context.
