+1.. can't really tell if that's rub on the wing but does seem to be.. other then that I would say ms63-64 but if that is rub it tops out at 58
Ditto! Probably the nicest I've ever seen - and it's the rare Philadelphia variety. Here's my trashy one and the more common San Francisco variety - I have a Carson City too but haven't had it slabbed yet (it's Details too).
Nice coin...grade first glance 64. But like Mama Rosa on South St in Philadelphia use to say "the wing is the thing", by the way she had a chicken BBQ joint there. So maybe a 58+
It’s probably in an MS-64 NGC holder. I think that it may have been dipped and not rinsed properly. It’s odd because usually the 1875-CC shows the weakness on the left wing of the eagle. I have not seen that on the Philadelphia Mint issue.
One of the best things about this site is the assembled expertise. There's always someone with useful, relevant, detailed knowledge and it's a real pleasure learning more and more every day here. Also: beautiful coin! I've always wanted one and have yet to see one in the flesh IIRC.
Au 58 details cleaned ...plenty meat on that bone ,but lack luster,,moted toned, wing tops head...show a lot of wear or a soft strike as others have stated.
