    How about a 1804 "Stainless" half cent? Item # 220568757407
    I sent a message to the seller asking what makes this coin stainless. And I asked if the coin was copper. I am wondering if the seller is bright enough to figure it out? So far no reply.

    Maybe because it is attracted to a magnet, but isn't rusty?

    I don't know....the reverse gouges seem to have copper color in them.

    Does the seller mean the coin is not stained? BIN looks like VF+ money.

    OK here's the deal. I own a 1804 half cent so that is why I already knew this:
    In 1804 there were at least five varieties. One of them was a stemless and another had stems This refers to the wreath on the reverse.
    Actually this happened in 1805 and 1806 also.
    I think this seller came upon a half cent with stemless written on the 2X2 in sloppy penmanship. He interpreted the writing to mean stainless.
    Just a guess.

    This is coming from a guy who sells other coins on ebay. That goes to show you better know what you are looking at and for if you are buying on ebay. The description is often not correct.

    The theory, not the coin...........

    And this is the answer;

    However, for "Stainless is [a] noun" to be true, he would have been referring to the metal. For stainless to be meaning stain free, it would be an adjective.

    It may be StainLess (if you don't look too carefully), but I DO know it is not ScratchLess, DingLess or GougeLess.
