Fraser considered for U.S. Women Quarter

    Hi all. I read that Laura Fraser (whose bust of George Washington can be seen in the new 2022 Quarters) is being considered for one of the upcoming AWQ (American Women Quarters) releases.

    If she's indeed selected, I think it would be the first time that an image of a sculptor and one of his/her work are both shown on the same coin. That would be neat.

    This was Fraser's 1931 submission. It wasn't selected, of course.

    Actually, I believe it indeed was selected in 1931...that from a previous member's post in a different but related thread some months back...but was ultimately rejected or veto'd at the last by the treasurer or someone similar with the power (supposedly who either wanted a male and/or not a female sculptor), in favor of the 1932 rendering by John Flanagan.
