This is gonna be a Loooooonnnggg GTG lol It will be headed to NGC almost as soon as it arrives... 2 of you have already seen it (TYVM for your opinions @Morgandude11 and @SensibleSal66 ) Now that I've actualy won the auction I can share her with the rest of you.... Honestly one of the prettiest 91s I've seen yet and even if she grades AU I still paid under list lol... (PS will take and post more pics when she arrives next week, you can suffer with these 2 for now lol) PPS she came from the same dealer as 4 of the ones presently at NGC And then there was one... Only the 1893 left to go to finish the MS Date set
Hopefully it is a true UNC - for this date there is a big price difference between a high AU and a 63. From the photos I see no obvious signs of cleaning. Congratulations on your purchase. It is a nice strike and frosty. I think this one might be a 58 as I see something at the top of the cap that might be rub. This is something I'm not good at though - and it's tough, even the TPGs mess it up from time to time.
From the photo I'm guessing a 62; it looks to be a slider (so I can see anything in the 55-62 range); the hits on the cheek, especially the deeper ones under the ear are likely grade limiting. Hopefully the photo isn't angled to hide a cleaning but that is always possible, so examine carefully in hand.
I'm no pro, but I'll guess 62 PL. Hits on the cheek hold it back. Might be some rub on the hat, but I'll assume it's the photo. Great looking coin!!!
At this point she is one of the "cleanest" 91s I've seen almost every one even the 62-63s have many/multiple bagmarks. for some reason these coins (specificaly 91-s's) were not treated very well, even the few 64s and 65s I've seen were not free of at least 1-2 obvious bag marks... She's not all that "rare" except in grades higher then 62 and after the other 4 i bought from this dealer I'm willing to risk they are honest pic's
I say she’s gem and her surface looks a little on the PL side. Her problem getting there is the hits and light scratches. I’m not going to point those out, just look at her and see. Bottom line I think she can very plausibly return 64PL, if not, 64.
I think it is way too frosty not to be uncirculated. The minimum I see it grading is 63. It could be a lot higher, depending on how it really looks,as the pictures are not clear. I am leaning towards 64, with some PL characteristics, but not graded PL.
