I have a coin I believe is from the Roman era. I have not been able to find one exactly like it on the reverse. Its look like the figurine is holding a torch in the hand. I have seem some, but not with the torch. I would like assistance to find more about it. If you can assist, please provide information where I can see the same coin. Thanking all in advance Stan
Hello Stan, I can imagine that you were not able to find references to your coin, for unfortunately it is a modern fake. It pretends to be a Greco-Bactrian coin, a category that is also often called Indo-Greek. The portrait side states the ruler as Diodotus, but the style does hardly resemble the original. The other side is modelled after a coin of a different ruler, Pantaleon. In real, this combination does not exist. These fakes often show up as souvenirs taken home by members of the armed forces from Afghanistan.
