Macrianus

    Finally, I could pick up my first coin of this difficult year. Sorry for the term. The bronze coin was struck under Macrianus, a quite rare usurper. It weighs 17.71 g. and the reverse has 3 standing figures. I couldn't find reference. Thanks for your comments.

    It's Valerian, not Macrinus - you can read the legend VALEPIANOC from 12:00 to 5:00 on the obverse

    I like that reverse! (Even if it is Valerian :) )
    Here are my two Macrinus (including one with his son, Diadumenian)

    Oh man...I can't edit my post now... I totally biffed and posted Macrinus vice Macrianus.
    Slowing down and reading thoroughly is important, kids...

    @7Calbrey I still stand by my statement of loving the reverse of your coin. It is really interesting and not one I've seen before!
