Greenie….. I just want you to know that I suffer terribly from the earworm disease and K.C. Has been singing in my brain all day long.
My mom had two or three of the glass piggy banks. The knife trick is the best way to get the coins out. Thanks for the memory.
Not nearly as badly as my wife hates it. She told me at dinner if I shook, shook, shook my booty one more time…. It would be the last time.
@Randy Abercrombie I would recommend a Wooden Tongue Depressor rather than a butter knife--even a plastic one--as the Depressor has a rounded end, is softer than the coin alloy, and has no teeth to possibly damage the coins.
Those glass pigs were very common in the 1960's. I had one but, have no idea what happened to it. It could be in a box in my attic, or my mother sold it when she had a tag sale after I moved out of her house.
Indeed a butter knife and patience...no rush...will help. Even without the knife looks loose and free enough to come out one-at-a-time with shaking upside-down, but again will take time. Have fun.
