I think it's high-side gem. Are you familiar with '39-Ds? They'll make allowances if these are really atypical. I've seen it before. So lots of luck!

The vast majority thinks no FS. Judging from the reverse I think it will be a 65 so best wishes for a better grade.

 

I think the OP coin is 67 all day. Now the steps could go either way but this coin looks better than all of the FS 67s and 66 on CoinFacts.

Congrats to all the YES guys for full steps. It only graded MS65, but the full steps will get me my profit, and someone will get a very attractive coin.

 

At least you finally got it back from NGC. How long between submission and when you got it back did it take? I'm glad that you got 5FS on that one but think that they were generous in that regard. I'm sure CAC wouldn't give it a bean for that reason. Me, I think it looks more like a 66 than a 65. But hey, what do I know.

Late to the party, but I will say,after the fact that I would have said yes to FS. They are clean enough, and no major breaks in the steps to prevent FS. The thing I believe NGC got wrong is the grade—it is a solid 66 to me.

 

I agree. Initial thought was 67 but surely it would have gone 66 minimum.

If only we could send it to CAC….
