Hey guys, I was looking on ebay and found this coin. I have been practicing llokng at coin and trying to tell if they are doubled die or machine doubled. I looked at this one and to me it lloks like machine doubling more than doubled die. Some of you experts take a look and let me know what you think. I figure it does not cost me anything to practice for a while before I start to buy. http://cgi.ebay.com/2006-P-Lincoln-...mQQptZCoins_US_Individual?hash=item19ba66bcf6
Well, I'd have to say with the way the light is reflecting off the letters where the supposed doubling is, I'm not seeing anything...
So you think I am right. Cool. I just thought it looked more like machine doubling because I did not see a seperation. I want to get some other peoples opinion so keep them coming
No, it is a minor DDO. The key is the bottom of theR, T and Y in liberty, it has a notch, but here is a better photo. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=2006&die_id=2006p1do002&die_state=mds This dealer is a respected Lincoln variety collector/seller, and is often found here ( maybe a different ID, and on Lincoln Resource Forum, which is an excellent one. http://www.lincolncentresource.com/ Notice Coppercoins calls it DDO-002, and Wexler calls it WDDO-006. It is a class 9 DD. It is difficult to find in circulation, and would be a fun one for a "Is this a DDO or not?" contest. This is another interesting one he has. I am tempted, but I am not sure which of the 2009 DD will be rare in a year or more. This is one that you can see fairly easily. http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-2009P-EC-L...mQQptZCoins_US_Individual?hash=item19ba7a9b6b Jim
