    That is basically the way I see the matter. Every city with a mint had local officials whose name are not attached to coins. Before I would elevate Aureolus to the status of a name worth mentioning in the ID I would prefer to see coins in his name as we see with Vetranio, for example.

    I agree. If the same rule applied across the board I believe we would have a lot more coins with suspected ‘emperors’ / usupers attached to them.

    Reasonably price coin to add to the collection but not one I will add to the true list.

    ...i agree its a strange kind of deal, but there seems to be historical evidence that he was....so i'm puttin'em in the Gallic empire...:D
