http://www.cointalk.com/t95863-5/ Forum, Of the above thread I snapped. I usually ignore such comments, and have done for years on Cointalk. Snide remarks about Canada, the "funny money" up north, "Canada, Americas hat", the Queens "mug" on a coin. I had had enough. When I see one, I usually just ignore the user or put them on my "ignore list". I notice now that after I snapped in that thread another Canadian has followed suit and continued to act as I did in that thread. I want to make sure I am not affiliated with that member, and I have zero intentions to ever publicly outburst in the forums again. If someone says something I disagree with I will simply bring it to a PM discussion. Sorry for creating drama on the forums, sorry for any comments I may have made in the heat of the moment that upset anyone. I was ready to leave. I have made MANY good American friends on cointalk, and I hope to keep it that way. I certainly am not putting all Americans in the same basket, and I am hoping that the same has not happened to me and the other Canadian spewing hatred towards Americans. I certainly have no hatred towards Americans, but I will no longer shrug off negative comments directed towards my home country. I will take this opportunity to unblock all the previous members I have blocked or muted on cointalk and see if this post changes anything. respectfully submitted, -Shawn  This coin
Shawn: No need to..you should be proud of your Country! Canada has some exceptional older Bank Notes too!! People should be a little more aware of how a sense of Pride comes into play when you talk of their Countries and their Mothers!! RickieB
It really is annoying when others make fun of others countries. Canada is a country I wanna visit some day. Talk to several canadians online and I havent heard a bad thing about it other then it gets cold.
I absolutely agree Rickie, thanks for your comment. I agree, Well, I'm not sure about KICKED, it was awful close Ken. Very good game indeed. I traveled to Vancouver so I could be with the crowd after the game. 16 hour drive, one way, worth every KM.
No worries Snaz :thumb:. Btw, I actually like finding Canadian, and other foreign coins in change, they're more interesting then those boring Lincoln cents. (I'll probably have all those crazy Lincoln collectors after me now ).
Shawn, There is nothing wrong honoring your country by fighting for it ...be it with your blood or your voice. .......I have quite a few Canadian coins and friends.....in my collection. They wish they had a 2006 square beaver!!! As Americans we think we have rights to speak and say anything we wish to.... and maybe so but it's still not cool to yell FIRE in a Movie! Let me apoligize for abunch of Americans who are just uneducated and unrefined! Breath in Breath out ...move on ..... Jerks are here to stay in this country and others......also!
I just want add one thing. I met my bride on a college trip to Quebec City way back in 1970. Canada holds many fond memories for me.....
Ken...... We'll wait for the movie...... LOL And if Angelina Jolie is playing your wife... I want to play you.
Well said Shawn. I took offense to the "handicap" comment that was made. I too am sorry for "yapping." Regards Mike
Sorry Snaz.. This is your maya cuppa and Ken and I are being unedcuated unrefinded Americans. Do you really feel safe up there with this many nuts living just south of you?:rolling:
Alright, two things. If somebody was making fun of my country, yes I would be angry and do everything I could do defend it. From what I've seen of the thread, and I didn't read the whole thing, the guy was ****ed about getting Canadian change, in AMERICA. Sounds about right to me, I'd be angry if I was in China, and I got American change, and they refused to accept it after giving it to me. Nothing I can do about it though, not gonna whine and complain if some Chinese person complains about getting my change in his country and not being able to spend it, he has every right to be mad. To go against opinions in this thread, I would never want to leave my country and go to live or even visit Canada, due to the horrible experiences my mother had in Canada, and my other opinions, which I will keep to myself, because I will be deemed a racist if I say them. Don't think very highly of many countries, Canada is alright I guess, but I wouldn't hate them due to their currency being in my country...big whoop. I'd never want to leave my country to go on a vacation, or live anywhere else. Now, about the apology, I see nothing wrong with it, you manned up for loosing it a little, no biggie, happens to all of us. I don't like apologizing, you don't know how it will hold up, who will it accept it, but at least it's there. Don't know you to be the one apologizing for anything, Shawn, you've always seemed to be an okay person in my book.
Shawn, it is terrible that there are such ignorant people in the world. You have nothing but respect and friendship here, at least from me. Oh, and just a slight friendly stab...I still got it:thumb: If people only knew how friendly our Canadian brothers and sisters are.
I feel guilty about my role in this. It most assuredly was not my intent to offend and would not have posted what I did if I believed it might. Ironically I just came from that thread. No one owes me an apology and I apologize if I offended anyone. Some people make jokes about Canada because they really don't know better but most Americans really do appreciate the relationship we have and jokes are intended in fun. It's easy to see how they can wear thin in some instances. I still hate pennies though.
And one more thing. Anyone that doesn't like Canadian cents should try and put a set together. This has been my hardest collection to complete. And I'm soon to call you Shawn for a little help on it
