I was quoting @nencoin’s post. I personally will never own a Panama-Pacific $50. Their pricetags run well up into five figures!
First of my posts was beyond bad. Both posts are copies of files from past posts. I had that did not come out as I thought they would. But basically, I love the 20 French Gold Franc starting with all the Napoleons and then some. Stopped some time ago since the price of gold got so high but would love to collect what I saw here from others if I could.
Here is one of my newer additions.... Frankfurt/ Imperial City AV Goldgulden 1495 Frankfurt Mint HRE Maximilian I 1493-1519
German States (Frankfurt): goldgulden of Maximilian I, dated 1495 This is a pre-1500 dated goldgulden! Take note of the date, everyone, particularly the curious medieval "4" in it which looks like a cancer awareness ribbon. Dates (actual numerical dates) on coins before 1500 are rather rare, generally speaking. This is the second earliest dated coin I have owned in 46 years of collecting; second only to a 1477 Saxony silver piece which @tibor (our resident specialist in early dated European coins) once gave me.
