Sent five coins to CAC. They arrived Monday and I received the results today. I like that turn around time. :)

The results were exactly what I thought they would be. Got one Gold, three Green, and one miss.

    Here is the Gold:

looks like that Wisconsin should have been close to a gold sticker

I agree that buffalo should be a gold. I'd proabably want to crack it and resend it to PSCG instead though.

The Wisconsin is very nice but they tend to look that way and a green looks good to me.

Not suprised the Columbian Expo didnt go but it's a nice coin either way.

DANG! Those are very nice coins, and that buffalo sure doesn't look like a 61...I think I'd send that off to PCGS again like Duke said.

I've only got one CAC coin with the green jobbie on it, what does the gold signify?

That it should be an upgrade according to CAC

Thanks for posting, Leeg. I think you have shown the Buffalo before (at least I'm pretty sure I saw it in another thread) and I remember thinking MS61 made no sense. It seems to be a bit of a soft strike but unless there are hairlines or something else not evident from the photos, 61 puzzles me and still does. I would have to agree with others that it might have been worth resubmitting to PCGS although having a gold bean might be interesting. By the way, I like the peripheral toning on the Buffalo a lot - Type 1's are such a great design.
I think from the images, CAC nailed these. The BTW is a bit dark and the toning is less attractive than on the other commems.
Very nice coins - thanks for posting.

A gold CAC sticker means that CAC believes it is at least one grade increment lower than the slab insert states.

May I ask approximately how much the service cost? Also, do they have a limit on how many coins you can submit? Any reason why you submitted to CAC instead of PCGS?

    Thank you.

I have a few coins that I very much in the dark about in regard to estimated values, as well as condition.

I'm not sure how familiar youa re with TPG (third party graders) and CAC.
So I'll start right with TPG's.

PCGS, NGC, ICCS, ANACS, all those are TPG's, when you submit a coin to them they will encapsulate your coin in a plastic case and give it an assigned grade based off of the opinion of several professionals.

That was already done to these coins when Leeg sent them into CAC.
CAC is only a company that takes PCGS, NGC, ICCS coins and says "Yes this coin has been assigned a correct grade" or they don't say anything at all.
They simply put their little tiny sticker on the slab and give a third opinion on your coin.

Snaz answered the best and I am not sure about the cost. You can always post pictures of the coins and get opinions on getting them graded. The key will be to post accurate pictures.

Yep basically they gread the TPG'ers with a sticker.
