Capped die Lincoln?

    Agreed its a (vise) job;)the reverse is completely roached from the pressure applied when the coins were jammed together,still a cent.Also I don't think capped dies can be rotated like this. http://www.error-ref.com/struck_through_a_late_stage_die_cap/

    It's a "vice" to do such a thing to a coin ;)

    Already answered . . . a vice job, and poorly done at that. Understanding the minting process can go a long way in figuring out whether something like this is an error, or just PMD.

    Yes the tool used to clamp things together is a vise.
    Vice is a bad habit and those 2 words are not interchangeable.

    Apparently, vice is the Britsh way of spelling vise. So both @potty dollar 1878 and I were correct. :p
