Blank Planchette with rim

    Wondering if anyone has an idea of what type of planchette this may be. Non magnetic and weighs 4.5 grams and is slightly larger than a U.S cent. IMG_20220423_091635.jpg IMG_20220423_091625.jpg

    Possibly for a medal or token. Upset rims on unstruck coin planchets don't look like that.
    Here is a clad quarter type 2 planchet.

    The weight and size make me think it's not a US coin.

    I agree. The weight is between a cent and a nickel.

    The token you posted is flat/blank struck . It really is no longer a planchet due to it being struck. Note the sharp 90° edge from the field to the rim.

    Beyond the sharpness of the rim, striking of the blank is further evident from short, but obvious outward radial flow lines in one of the two photos.

    Very interesting. It does appear by weight and size to be foreign. I don't have a clue but sure would like to know. Good luck.
