i haven't really posted much on my Jefferson collection. my goal is to have a complete set of graded Jefferson nickels including proofs. i know its going to be a hard and expensive goal. i do have to say i have made quite a dent though. i only need 9 more proof nickels to finish that set. the regular issues are a different story. so here is the newest addition. :thumb: here are the rest of my proofs http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/SetListing.aspx?PeopleSetID=93845 1940 **NGC PF 66** ONLY 14,158 MINTED
Early Proof Jefferson have an alluring way of presenting the coin with all intended detail that escapes most Jefferson Nickels. The overall appearance of the coin is very powerful. Nice addition to your set.
I can't wait. I love to view other Jefferson collections and I am sure you are aware, very few collectors bother to photograph them.
Nice coin but I can't imagine that much plastic. Just not a fan of plastic and would rather just have coins in an Album.
Great pickup. You will have fun putting together a set of them. Here is mine. I need to take more pictures. Have fun. http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/SetListing.aspx?PeopleSetID=26575
Great coin! I am also working on a Jefferson set (although not at all the quality that you are collecting). But I do love to see these great proof coins.
I have two Jefferson proofs, and both are very black. i've heard them called 'black beauties'. If I could find them I'd post a pic, but my collection is currently in a very disorganized state.
here's one of my favorites. A 1942 proof. Do you all see a cameo? Or is it more wishful thinking on my part?
well all of my other sets are in albums. i wanted to go with graded jeffersons. thats quite a set. lots of PF 70's. if i ever upgrade i will go for the 70's
thats quite a set. lots of PF 70's. if i ever upgrade i will go for the 70's [/QUOTE] Yeah. Decided to get 70's from at least 2000 on to present. I can't see a difference from 69 and 70 but the price is not much more for the later years. Actually the coins in the set I enjoy looking at the most are the 1970 and 1971 years. They both got stars and great eye candy. Only worth 3 points each in the registry but worth much more to me.
