Going thoughtout my collection these days I found two Canadian Maritime cents. After a litttle research I discovered a neat series set very doable in any grade . The Newfoundland cent with King George VI on the obv. And a insect eating plant right out of" Little shop of horrors"
You see during this time peroid The Newfoundland cent with a C mint mark were minted in England and durring the war years the production was made in Ottawa Ca. These years 1938,40 amd 42 have no mint marks.

Now back to meat eating plants or " insectivores" the pitcher plant has large leaves like receptacles, which a sweet sticky syrup is secreted luring the insect into a tube with bristles facing down the tube to trap the insect from excape.
This lovely plant is native to Newfoundland.
The 9 coin set can be easily assembled for under $300 in xf grade. Mintages run from 300k-1,996,889
Many of these having wood grain effects too.

So how cool is that a veggie who eats meat....now that's something nightmares are made of.... ;)

I think I included a basic set in my Canadian Cents collection.
    I have 1938, 1940, 1941C, 1942, 1943C, 1944C and 1947C.
They are attractive higher end circulated examples.

That was back when my collection said "Feed Me!"

Before cracking out the coin, check to see if that ACG slab
is not a rare collectors item.

I would crack it out that slab. ACG is not a good grading company.

Early Accugrade slabs were actually very well graded and competitive on the market.

The slab came cracked. I have no plans on bustin it out. ...unless it starts to get any rot. Then ill save the coin.

So would this be considered a "Full Set"?
I got these along with several other Canadian coins when my Mothers husband passed away. (I call him that because my Mother remarried later in life)
He was a collector and loved the Canadian coins......so I have butt loads, hahahahaha
I'm a collector but stick to US coins....Morgans and Peace$ mostly.
When I seen Paddy's post, I found it super interesting and decided to dig out my book of older Canadian coins from Newfoundland Cool Stuff!:)

That's what I got but there is an expensive proof I think. We can say we have one of each I guess.
I have the same magnifi-CENT seven.

Not mine aan ebay item available now if you search for it on the bay. However somewhere there's got to be a template for the set.
