It’s mine now! I bought this last month and it finally arrived. An 1825 Classic Head Bust Half Cent with only 63,000 minted. It suddenly found a new home in my Dansco 7070 album. Considered scarce. I estimate this to be in EF-40, maybe 45 condition. It looks good in its new home. The Bust coins are Exquisite!
Thank you and the price was reasonable. It’s one of those coins that as soon as you see it, you look at it and say to yourself that you have to have it. LOL In other words, it was calling out to me. Haha
I think that your EF-45 grade is too high. It's more like a VF-30. This one is somewhere in the VF-35 to EF-40 range.
You gotta watch out for those "talking" bust half-cents that's how I ended up with mine lol... AU Details.. but man she talked to me loudly lol
I needed one for my typeset looked at 100s before I saw this one once I saw it, the "details" grade didn't mean anything.. She has more eye appeal then any other 1/2 cent I could afford lol (besides, i like the env-dmg, it easily passes for interesting toning )
Bust half's are beautiful and the 1825 is a wonderful year to have. Somehow I ended up with two of those?
Regarding grading… for reasons unknown to me they seem to grade certain coins differently. Meaning some coins get a pass while others they come down hard on. Not just the super rare either. Just my feel.
