Subtle rose toning on the device high points - one of my favorite types of toning. Some great luster on this coin too.
One of my favorite ugly toners! The obverse has matte-like fields and cartwheel luster. The reverse - well, not so much. How does that affect the grade? How do you think this happened? What color designation and grade would you give it and why?
An issue that's harder than most think to find a pleasant and nice example! Even mint set coins look like they've been through a blender. OBW roll find.
While searching high and low for a 1981 S Proof T2 Lincoln, I ran across this ad: "1955 Lincoln Wheatback No Mint Mark US Coin - $1,814.00 + S&H." Seller is fortress 8882021. He went on to say the coin has been in a coin collection box for 36 years and it is a "One Owner". I had to recheck the web site, I thought I had gotten re-directed to ITSY. It is simply a 1955 circulated Lincoln. Worth at most .05 cents. Has anyone on CT ever dealt with this individual?? Hope not. I just found this listing to be at best dishonest and seemingly posted simply as a trap for the unknowing. JMO Semper Fi Phil
